My journey in art began quite late in life, and, to be honest, I had no idea I was capable of painting! Around the time of the credit crunch – 2007, we experienced some very challenging times; which sent me on the road to creating. I suddenly had time on my hands. Instead of pushing a business full time, I now had space to change and do something I love on a daily basis. I decided in 2009 to take on my fine art degree by distance education. New to the artworld this was a way of enhancing my knowledge of art. A fair bit of juggling was required and a lot of dedication; especially when working part time!
Colour, light, reflection is something that I strive to achieve in all of my work. I love the colours that are around at dawn and dusk. One of my favourites is wet streets with all of life’s colours reflecting off the roads. Sunset and sunrise nothing quite like it – just stunning! My glass and resin art is something I have always wanted to do. Having backgrounds in the composite and wine industry, it was always on my mind: a champagne flute, wine glass or vase is a blank canvas to me. Similarities with resin it leaves itself open to some amazing creations of swirling colours…………..
