Barringwood vineyard is located on a steep north facing slope over looking the Don Valley toward Bass Straight. The site rises to an elevation of 276m.
We have a long mild growing season perfectly suited to creating premium quality fruit from our classic cool climate varieties of Pinot Noir (40%), Pinot Gris (20%) and Chardonnay (20%) as well as the more usual Pinot Muenier (10%) and the exotic Schönburger (10%).
Since our first vintage in 1998, Barringwood’s multi award winning single vineyard wines have consistently been among Tasmania’s best. The vineyard gained a 5 star rating in James Halliday’s 2013, 2014 & 2015 Australian Wine Companion.
We believe that only great grapes make great wine, so focus our efforts on producing premium fruit which makes the winemakers job as easy as possible.
